Shorter Paper
For the shorter paper, you will work on one of two tracks:
If your obsession is one that other students have not worked on in the past, your shorter paper will offer your
readers a smart, selective overview of your obsession's function in Ulysses. I will explain this assignment
in class with more details and an example.
If your obsession has been worked on in the past, I will provide you with the previous student's shorter paper
on that topic. (I share these with permission and without my comments or grades.) You will then propose
an appropriate project building on the previous student's work.
For general guidance about what I look for in papers, see the following links. They contain a lot of information; I assume that each of you will find some parts more relevant and useful than others.
