I am an assistant professor of mathematics at Grinnell College who specializes in harmonic analysis. Before coming to Grinnell, I was a VIGRE post-doc at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and I was a graduate student at Dartmouth College. Agnes Scott College is my alma mater; its math page is here.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

There are several projects I'd be happy to talk to you about if you are interested in doing something during the regular school year. Early in the spring term, faculty members in the mathematics and statistics department at Grinnell present possible topics for undergraduate summer research.

  • Ernest Boateng-Abebresse, Pengjun Shen, Talent Takundwa, and Fai Tosuratana (Grinnell College): Equilibrium measures of iterated function systems with overlap (Summer 2008)
  • Bobby Elam (Bethune-Cookman University), Greg Ongie (Coe College), and Mark Tucker (University of Iowa), co-mentored with Palle Jorgensen and Paulette Willis (University of Iowa): The Cantor measure and its associated orthogonal polynomials (Summer 2007)
  • Michael Gideon (Grinnell College): MAP 499: Functional analysis and mathematical economics (Spring 2007)
  • Ogechi Nnadi and Kaitlyn Ryan (Grinnell College): MAP 499: Visualizing K-Bessel functions (Summer 2005)
  • Michael Henry (Augustana College): The Illustrated Analyst (Summer 2002)
  • Emily Cornell (Dartmouth College): Signal processing with the Jacobi group (Spring 1998)
