The theme of this year's conference is "Issues and Trends in Small College Computing" Paper, Panel, and tutorial contributions are solicited on all topics in computing at small colleges, including but not limited to : * Emerging Technologies Technologies such as Java, World Wide Web, and Distance Learning which are rapidly transforming the computing landscape. * Computing Education Curriculum and course development issues in Computer Science and Computer Information Systems, development of student projects and undergraduate research. * Technology in the Classroom How technology can be used in the classroom setting, visualization and presentation tools, applications of multimedia. * Computing Across the Curriculum Teaching with and laboratory use of computers in the various disciplines; the impact of computing technology on education. * Academic Computing Issues Sharing computing resources; faculty support services; budgeting, faculty/staff workshops, policy issues, balancing faculty and administrative duties. * Student Research Projects As a NEW FEATURE of this year's conference, we encourage students to submit papers & demonstration proposals. Projects in any area of Computer Science may be submitted through the normal paper track, or through a new student paper track. Papers will be blind refereed and published in the Journal for Computing in Small Colleges. Papers up to fifteen pages are solicited. Student papers are welcome. Panels and tutorial suggestions are encouraged. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT THE CONSORTIUM The Consortium for Computing in Small Colleges is a non profit organization focused on promoting quality computer oriented curricula as well as effective use of computing in smaller institutions of higher learning which are typically non-research in orientation. It supports activities which assist faculty in making appropriate judgments concerning computing resources and educational applications of computer technology. Because departments in smaller colleges and universities are usually small and not highly specialized, the Consortium also encourages the sharing of expertise, effective curricula and efficient technological applications. The Consortium is concerned with the advancement of major programs in both Computer Science and Computer Information Systems, and with the use of computers in the Liberal Arts and Sciences. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Deadlines: Paper Submissions . . . . . . . . . . . . .
