Assigned: Thursday, 2 September 1999
Expected Discussion: Tuesday, 7 September 1999
At Grinnell, we consider it especially important that students understand appropriate standards for using and citing the work of others. Each tutorial is expected to consider citation in an appropriate format. We will be considering citation as part of a broader discussion of intellectual property in the electronic age. You have already considered some issues about citation as you read Williams' and McEnerney's Writing in College and as you discussed your drafts with me.
Read Judy Hunter's ``Advice for Students on Citation and Scholarship'' and be prepared to discuss it in class.
