Assessment

I will ask you to turn in regular homework assignments. These assignments will contain 2 types of exercises:

1. Daily homework, to be graded and commented on by a student grader, and
2. Weekly Problems, which will be assigned on most weeks and will be graded by me. (Note: They will not occur quite every week.)

   Exam schedule

   • September 28, Friday, Exam I in class.
     
   • November 7, Wednesday, Exam II, in class.
     
   • November 28, Exam III, take-home, due Dec. 3.
     
   • Dec. 20, Thursday, 2 pm Final exam (in-class).
     

   Grades: Tentative guidelines for final course grades are as follows.

   • Hourly exams: 80 points each
   • Final exam: 120 points
   • Homework: 100 points
   • Class participation: 20 points
