Iowa Collegiate Mathematics Competition, 2000

The event

The sixth annual Iowa Collegiate Mathematics Competition was held at Luther College on Saturday, April 1, 2000. A total of twenty-eight teams of two or three students each worked on a collection of ten problems for three hours, submitting written solutions.

Grinnell College fielded two teams:


The results were announced at the April 2000 meeting of the Iowa Section of the Mathematical Association of America. Up to ten points were awarded for each problem.

The team of Dmitry Krivin, Oleksiy Andriychenko, and Atanas Djumaliev earned 67 points and placed second in the competition.

The team of Ming Gu, Rajendra Magar, and Dawa Lama Sherpa earned 35 points and placed eighteenth.
